the world of music (new series) 11 (2022):1 on Korean Traditional Music on Global Stages has just been published. Guest-edited by Jan Creutzenberg and Anna Yates-Lu, this issue explores live performances of kugak outside of Korea. The authors discuss various genres from p’ansori and minyo to instrumental music (such as sanjo improvisation) and ensemble genres. Following an introduction by the guest editors, the issue includes contributions by Hee-sun Kim, Sang-Yeon Sung, Ju-Yong Ha, Cholong Sung, and Jan Creutzenberg and Anna Yates-Lu themselves.
