insideWoM Interview:

Slow Thinking, Listening to Colonialism, and Extractivism

In January 2022, Ana MarĂa Ochoa Gautier joined Emily Hansell Clark, the guest editor of the world of music (new series) 10:2, and insideWOM editor Juan Montoya Alzate for a conversation about Audibilities of Colonialism and Extractivism. Dr. Ochoa Gautier is a scholar of music, sound, and colonial history whose work has influenced all of the contributors to this themed issue. She joined us virtually for a chat about sound, place, and history, and how her previous work (such as her 2014 monograph Aurality) has built the foundations for a more recent turn to sound, colonialism, and climate change. Thank you for speaking with us, Ana!
